Come experience the small town advantage of life in Morris, Minnesota. The slower pace of life, shops that close before ten, and wide open spaces to explore nature aren’t a bug – they’re a feature! It gives the brain time, space, and a walkable area in which to think, process, and explore without being rushed or hurried, allowing ideas and inspiration to flow.
Love nature? The shores of Crystal Lake are just a fifteen-minute walk from downtown, and the Horticulture Gardens are five miles of pristine natural gardens open 24 hours a day to the public and are just an hour’s walk from downtown. Don’t mind a bit of a drive? Get out to our Wetlands Management District and you’ll be able to immerse yourself in hundreds of species of wildlife.
Want to do some research? The Stevens County Historical Museum is open Monday through Friday and is just a ten-minute walk from downtown. It features over 40,000 historical records as well as curated collections of antique weapons and antique gowns. The City of Morris library is downtown, and the University of Minnesota Morris Library is open to the public and 20 minutes from downtown. You’re never far from access to the information you need.
Love the arts? We’ve got the Prairie Arts Center and the University of Minnesota Morris Morrison Arts Galleries for you to view, filled with a variety of art styles and types. Pick up some local art by local artists to take home with you.
